i was asked today, from a very unexpected person,i was hoping he knew the answer.

he asked me, why in the videos, they still use the fans, is it for decoration?

i paused, stunned, but decided to explain fully, im sure there are people out there that dont know the answer to this too.

well, in a air cooled system, the heat sink absorbs the heat from the processor, and the fan blows air molecules onto the heat sink fins, as the molecules touch the fins the heat energy form the fins are transferes onto the air molecule and the air molecule is blown away.

without the fan, the only molecules that will come incontact with the heat sink, are the molecules sitting in very close contact with it, also as we know that air is a great heat insulator, the hot air molecules will not transfer thir energy to the next molecule.

so hence the fan is important to blow away the hot air molecule.

as for oil, basically same principle, only that oil, will pass arround the heat better without a fan.

If you have a fan on it.. its way better. yes it makes a huge difference.

i read somwhere that, it took him 2 hours without the heat sink to reach 55 degrees C, but with the fan it took about 12 hours to reach that same temperature.

hope ive helped any puzzled souls

mahees.

i was actually thinking abt it…and reaslised…u could do some craazy cooling, like with an air cooled pc, best thing would be, take the case an put it into a freezer, or pump ac into the case.

but as for this, u could actually pump out the oil on one side and cool the oil (its hard (viscous), but can be done) like push it thru a series of thin metal tubes and put the tupes into a freezer, and push the oil pack into the case the other side, creating some sort or oil current, so the oiled arround the heat sink dont just heat up.

if u didnt create a current, convection currents will still be there, amm the convection currents wount be as effective.

madd idea…

ima drop some thicker coloured wax in it..and make a pc case lava lamp!!!!

i saw this today on youtube and decded i must make a blog today.

and

too awsome.

i saw em submerging the power supply unit …and i was like..omg…RUN

and yes…id put fish in there.

vegetable oil people

cool stuff

Pros:
- but for real..thats the dust free way to go!!!
- quiet

cons:
- Price
- only external hdd allowed, well i guess, coz the drives need to spin really really fast, and u dont want to slow it down, secondly the drives are vacuum sealed.
- heres the funny thing, i think..(just a lil bit) that if u do this…theres a slight chance of u voiding ur warentee…being sarcastic.
- im hearing that vegetable oil creates solid build up on moving parts..auch…

Other thoughts:
- question, doesn’t the oil soak into the capacitors and make the lining weak and eventually start leak?
- no grounding?

note: SEVEN star and there is no six star

this afternoon, a close friend of mine georgia grey called me, and she was all so excited abt the history channel, i asked her what it was about…and she said Dubai, and im like…ummm

so, we were talking and we are sin to each other we must absolutly go see the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, and im like..umm..Jamaicans … we need lots of doe to pull this one off, and then ofcourse we started about whos goin to do what work, and wat part time..etc.

well…

for those of u that will read this post.

this is a must see place, i think it should be a world wonder.
gold everywhere, all the rooms are two stories.

simply amazing

i try do this as much as i can in my spare time, im not that good yet…but practice makes perfect.

im tring to bring in this as an art to jamaica, its quite unfortunate that anything that comes into jamaica is taken into the dancehall sector as thier own, its happend to the rock sector, now wearing black and black, with spikes, and bling bling chains is the fashion these days, “gangsta rock” its called …upsetting to some extent coz most jamaicans dont have a clue that goth living is a way of life, and what is being done is a mockery of it, and certainly funny enough, most jamaicans think that the goth people around the world are immitating dancehall, and taking thier ideas.

anyways, back to glow stringing, its an trance/dance/rave based art that im tring to gradually bring into jamaica, however, as i said my main concern is how long will it be trance/rave/dance based?

mainly i just want the art to connect people as it has through out the globe.

truely spectaular, and peaceful.

trance is such a calming music, rave is exciting… its preety-bright and wonderfull

so i decided to start a site called plurjamaica.com

its currently under construction

plur means peace love unity respect.

i plan to have a series of projects on it… mainly so that when people come, they done want to leave.

glow sticking/stringing involves glow sticks ofcourse, attached to strings and spining them in the air, doing various combinations, with body movements.

i believe its an art, to express your self and feelings.
